This Saturday @ 2 PM will be going to downtown Tacoma or Parkland to do a walk-about, which is where we will go out in 2′s to offer up food and drink with people on the street to create and open door for conversation. This is to get to know and love random people on the street and get to know the world outside of PLU.
If you are interested we will be meeting in the UC. This session will be lead by Erik West who was an intern at Bridgetown Inc.
Sent on Mission
Yesterday, we had a few members of InterCP’s Vision School come speak to us about our mission as Christian’s is to preach the gospel to all nations. It was extremely powerful. They spoke out of many passages, one being Luke 15, about how He is the Shepherd who will leave the ninety-nine to go after the one lost sheep and when He finds the sheep He “joyfully” caries it back to the flock. He’s a God that want’s all people to hear good news that they can be reconciled through His Son. As John 10 speaks, He is the gate for the sheep an His sheep hear His voice and the gospel must be spoken.
Vision School is a training missionary school that prepares students to go out into the Unreached Nations (nation’s where over 99% of the citizens are not Christian) and they worship, pray, and then go out and preach the gospel. The passage that they follow is out of Luke 10, where the 72 were sent out without anything to listen to the Holy Spirit and allow God to move through them and take them to communities where they would preach the gospel.
If anyone is interested learning more about this ministry, on Monday (9/30/13) @ 7 PM @ Japanese International Baptist Church 7637 South A Street, Tacoma, WA 98408 they will be hosting a more in depth session on Vision School.
Once again, thank you Vision School members for coming and opening up our eyes to what God is doing around the world and putting the charge in our hearts to live on mission with God here at PLU and to the ends of the earth.
